Raman Probes
-
As with Raman spectrometers, a Raman probe is used to measure the inelastic scattering of light from a sample. Raman scattering is produced when the energy levels of photons are shifted up or down as a result of excitation by a monochromatic source (usually a laser). The change in vibrational frequency is used to determine the composition of a target substance.

Power Probes
RkT Thermopile Series
-
The RkT Series thermopile power probes are ideal for measuring Nd:YAG, CO2, and other mid-power lasers. The probes are designed to withstand average power densities up to 20kW/cm2 (15MW/cm2 peak pulse power density). The flat UV to far-IR spectral response allows the probes to measure broadband sources as well. Measure the power of cw sources or the average power of sources pulsed at 5Hz or greater.

The Parrot Clip, model PCM W1 or PCS-MB W1 invention can be connected to resistance’s, diodes, integrated circuits (SOIC, SO) etcThe advantage of the Parrot Clip is given by the double metal connection made between the new metal tip and the steel hooked rod, spring loaded. This connection, being made by metal parts is electrical and mechanical reliable, even if the contact point are small. Connections are resistant even at high temperatures.

Transmission Line Probes
-
Transmission line probes are a special type of passive probe designed for use at very high frequencies. They replace the high impedance probe cable found in a traditional passive probe with a precision transmission line, with a characteristic impedance that matches the oscilloscope input (50 Ohm). This greatly reduces the input capacitance to a fraction of a picofarad, minimizing the loading of high frequency signals. A matching network at the tip increases the DC input resistance. While they have lower DC input resistance than a traditional passive probe (usually 500 Ohm) to 1kOhm), the input impedance of these probes remains nearly constant over their entire frequency range. A traditional /10 passive probe will have a 10 MOhm) input impedance at DC, however this impedance drops rapidly with frequency, passing below the input impedance of a transmission line probe at less than 100 MHz.

Energy Probes
RjP-400 Series
-
The RkP-400 Series probes consist of a compact detector assembly, or head, and a preamplifier housed in a separate enclosure. The external dimensions of all the 400 Series Probes are the same, with identical detector planes, allowing for easy interchange of probes in an experiment. The heads have both ¼-20 and M6 tapped holes, a built-in 1" (25mm) filter holder, and a side-mounted BNC connector. Probe specific data, including spectral response curves and calibration dates, is stored in the preamplifier for access by the instruments.

High Impedance Active Probes
7
-
Designed as a companion probe to Models 12C and 18C for driving integrated circuit lines so the Model 12C and 18C can be used to measure the response of adjacent nodes. The Model 7 consists of a flexible 6 foot, 50 ohm coaxial cable accurately terminated to 50 ohms in order to avoid undesirable reflections. A special miniature connector receives replacement coaxial probe tips that provide a shielded environment to within 3 mm of the fine tungsten probe point, thus minimizing capacitive coupling to other parts of the circuit. The replaceable coaxial probe tips are offered in various point sizes and can also be bent to any shape in order to accommodate a variety of probing geometries.

High Impedance Active Probes
18C & 19C
-
High impedance probes, PICOPROBE® MODEL 18C and MODEL 19C, combine the most advanced MOS and bipolar technologies with special, low capacitance packaging techniques to achieve truly remarkable electronic measurement capabilities. While being manufactured each instrument is individually optimized for the best possible performance. The extremely low input capacitance, high input impedance, and almost negligible input leakage current permits the direct probing of even the most sensitive MOS dynamic nodes. At the same time, the full dc capability of this Picoprobe coupled with the high speed capability permits the full characterization of circuits.

Passive Probes
-
Passive probes are the standard probe provided with most oscilloscopes. Typical passive probes provide a /10 attenuation and feature a high input resistance of 10 MOhm. This high input resistance means that passive probes are the ideal tool for low frequency signals since circuit loading at these frequencies is minimized. Passive probes are designed to handle voltages of at least 400 V, some as high as 600 V. Teledyne LeCroy passive probes feature an attenuation sense pin which tells the oscilloscope to scale the waveforms automatically requiring no user input.
