Series HSP
The Kepco HSP series provides mission critical power. HSP comprises a group of twelve models, eight 1000 watt power supplies with outputs from 3.3 volts to 125 volts and four 1500 watt power supplies with outputs from 24 volts to 125 volts. All models feature current-sharing for parallel redundant N+1 operation. Models with the or-ing diode, option R, are capable of hot swapping when plugged into Kepco¹s RA 60 series rack adapter. Models with a digital meter, option M, are also available (see photo, right). A mechanical keying scheme allows the user to define which power supply will plug into a specified slot in the housing. Output voltage and current limit settings are adjustable from the panel and may be remotely adjusted.

It is highly desirable to reduce the number of cables required to communicate between spaces on Navy ships due to increased weight, cost and maintenance concerns. To reduce weight and expense, copper-based NTDS parallel and serial type cables can be converted to fiber optic and multiplexed using Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology. WDM technology allows for multiple fiber optic wavelengths to be combined in a single fiber and then separated back to individual fibers at the distant end. Using Coarse WDM (CWDM) which utilizes wavelengths 20nm apart ranging from 1271 nm to 1611 nm, provides for up to 18 optical wavelengths to be combined into a single fiber. Optionally Dense WDM (DWDM) can be used allowing for up to 160 optical wavelengths.

The relational test database is the pivotal point of the software structure. On one hand, this is where the test applications and test systems used for productive testing are stored; on the other hand, it provides the storage space for all DUT-related test data. Depending on customer requirements, the test database may either be hosted locally on the test system or centrally on a server, supporting several test systems. The database performance is sufficient for a high-volume production environment with many test systems which access the central database in parallel. Utilize SpaceWire to communicate with the European Space Agency and NASA equipment utilizing the ECSS-E-50-12A specification. SpaceWire is configured using routers to create a heirarchical point-to-point system with high speed parallel paths. PMC SpaceWire implements SpaceWire in a convenient PMC format. With PMC you can install the adapter into PCI [PCIBPMC], cPCI [cPCI2PMC], or processor board pmc slots. The SpaceWire specification calls for LVDS signaling and a specific 9 pin micro-D connector. You can connect the PMC-SpaceWire to other SpaceWire compliant devices without electrical interface issues.

This extensometer is ideally suited for testing anisotropic materials such as advanced composites as well as for general purpose tests like determining Poisson’s ratio. The Model 3560BIA uses a design unique to Epsilon, where the knife edges remain parallel during the displacement. This approach greatly reduces crosstalk between axes and allows use on round or flat specimens with equal ease. These extensometers are very easy to mount. Integral springs hold the unit on the test sample. The parallel multiple flexure design makes these units very durable.The Model 3560AVG reads axial strain only as a single averaged output. It may also be supplied with two independent outputs, one measurement from each side of the specimen. This set-up is most commonly required when an indication of specimen bending is desired. The second version, the Model 3560BIA, includes both the averaged axial strain and the transverse strain. Again, this may also be configured as dual independent axial readings, which results in a three channel extensometer.The Model 3560 extensometers are strain gaged devices, making them compatible with any electronics designed for strain gaged transducers. Most often they are connected to a test machine controller. The signal conditioning electronics for the extensometer is typically included with the test machine controller or may often be added. In this case the extensometer is shipped with the proper connector and wiring to plug directly into the electronics. For systems lacking the required electronics, Epsilon can provide a variety of solutions, allowing the extensometer output to be connected to data acquisition boards, chart recorders or other equipment.
