A single output E36200 Series autoranging bench power supply can power devices requiring up to 200 W. In comparison, a dual output supply provides two independent 200 W outputs that can combine into a single 400 W output. Three technologies generate higher current at more voltages: autoranging, auto-series, and auto-parallel. All four models use autoranging outputs to provide maximum current at all voltages. Power Amplifier is used to amplify the output of the CS700A or CS701 signal generators. The 52 MHz bandwidth amplifier can swing 36Vpp with an output current up to 1A continuous. The CS1070 includes an internal inverting power supply to provide the negative rail, simplifying power supply requirements. The gain is fixed at x10 (20dB). The output voltage range is ±5V to ±18V and asymmetrical to +31, -5V for PSRR measurements right up to 30V as the input supply increases past 20V.

While the injection transformer is a very wideband adapter, it is not useful for measuring ripple rejection (PSRR) of a power supply or even an opamp. This is because the attributes that make the injection transformer perform so well also result in a transformer that is intolerant of DC current. Even very small DC currents (5mA or less) can greatly reduce the signal capacity or even totally saturate the transformer. For this reason, the Picotest line injector (J2120A) is another essential test adapter.
