High Elongation Extensometers

The main body of this unique extensometer remains stationary during testing, held in position by the adjustable magnetic base included. Only the very light, small traveling heads move as the sample elongates during a test. These attach to the sample with small spring clips. Each head pulls a cord out from the extensometer as the head moves. These models use high precision, low friction potentiometers, and, as a result, have a wide range of factory selectable outputs. The extensometer is driven by an excitation voltage and has output proportional to the input. They can be provided with high level outputs (approximately 2-8 VDC) or ones that mimic strain gaged devices (2-4 mV/V). When set to mimic strain gaged extensometers, the Model 3800 can be used with virtually any signal conditioning electronics designed for strain gaged sensors. The potentiometers employ a hybrid wire wound around conductive plastic, which provides excellent long term stability. The output from the extensometer is readily interfaced with most existing test controllers, and may be directly input to data acquisition systems and chart recorders. Round wire coil (RWC) inductors come in six platform sizes and enable the highest efficiency of any SMT inductor through the use of a low loss ferrite core material which minimizes AC losses and also eliminates thermal ageing. The use of round magnetic wire instead of rectangular flat coils enables a lower cost while still maintaining a low DCR and small footprint. The platforms have passed the AEC-Q200 stress test qualification proving the designs robustness and suitability to difficult environments but the parts are not IATF certified. ICS's Ethernet Parallel Digital Interface boards provide the user with a wide range of IO signals that can be user configured to match virtually any application. These Ethernet boards are available with high power relay driver boards and with optional firmware designed to simplify switching applications. The 80x3 boards have high-power TTL signals that can sink 48 mA and source 24 mA. Pullup resistors make it easy to interface with CMOS logic and to sense contact closures. User configures data byte direction and polarity. The 80x3 boards are VXI-11 compliant for operation with NI or Agilent VISA, LabVIEW and VEE and support raw socket connections. The new 8113 board is a CMOS close of the 8013 board with user set 3.3 or 5 V logic levels. Pinouts and command set is the same as the 8013 board. The 8113 communicates with TCP/IP(Raw Socket) protocoland and also has a RS-232 Serrial Port. All boards are designed for mounting against the rear panel or inside a chassis and use our Ethernet Wiring Kit for easy connection to a Ethernet Connector on the rear panel.

The sensors may be widely distributed through out your plant and it just wouldn’t be cost effective to run all your wiring to where the PC is. ADLINK PXI-7921 is a relay multiplexer which consists of 24 2-wire relays (DPDT, 2 Form C). As a multiplexer, the PXI-7921 provides 48x1 1-wire, 24x1 2-wire and 12x1 4-wire configurations. Users could choose one of the configurations by software. PXI-7921 typically connects one instrument, such as a DMM, a digitizer or a signal source, with many points which need measurement or excitation. The contact position of the relays can be changed either by direct software commands or by following the instructions previously stored in the on-board scan list. The scan list advances upon the trigger from external measurement devices, such as a DMM. The scan list could also advance when the scan-delay timer expires. In the PXI-7921, PXI trigger functions are supported and software programmable. Multiple modules can therefore be synchronized without additional field wiring.
