The integrated DQPSK receiver incorporates an optical phase demodulator (delay-line interferometer or DLI) with 2 pairs of balanced photo-diodes and 2 linear TIAs into a single butterfly package. Compared with the currently available discrete solution in which a separate DLI and a separate receiver are used, the integrated DQPSK receiver eliminates labor intensive fiber routing and coupling (between the DLI and the balanced receiver) as well as the skew control. The RR024 is designed for Radar Electronic Support (RES) and Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) applications where high performance and small size are of prime importance, with filtering, amplification, detection and pulse parameter measurement being combined into one multi-function unit. Four amplitude measurement channels allow direction finding by amplitude comparison between adjacent antennas. An IFM, fed from one of the amplitude channels via an SPDT switch, performs 14 bits of frequency measurement on the selected input. Frequency resolution is nominally 1 MHz over a 2 to 18 GHz band.

The system is designed to work with carrier frequency 1800/2700 Hz and modulated frequency 65Hz/85Hz. For 1800Hz Carrier Frequency RED border is used in Front Panel and for 2700Hz Carrier Frequency BLUE border is used in Front Panel. Maximum power consumed by transmitter and receiver are 1.2W and 8W, respectively. Sense level for receiver is less than –19 dBm and No sense level for receiver is more than –22 dBm with 1mw (0 dBm) transmitter power. The equipment is designed to work satisfactorily with temperature variation from 0°C to 55°C with relative humidity of 95% at 35°C.
