The MMR-6500 digital meter is designed for measuring low resistances with a stabilised current of up to 100 A. The use of test clamps enables the safe measurement of breakers (high-, medium- and lowvoltage), isolators and other components earthed on both sides. The MMR-6500 series meters are equipped with a unique module in their class that measures inductive components which have a current of up to 10 A, enabling the winding resistance of motors, transformers and other inductive components to be measured. Since the rise time of IGBTs are in the range of a few tens of nanoseconds (between 50ns-200ns), even short cables between PWM motor drives and motors cause voltage doubling at the motor terminals due to Travelling Wave Phenomenon as in transmission lines. The insulation of motor windings are prone to failure due to high voltage spikes if necessary precautions are not sufficiently taken. RC Type Output Filter Modules reduce these high voltage spikes to protect motors by connecting to stator terminals.
