Parasitic Drain Tester

Replaceable in-line fuses protect both the meter and tester in the event a high current source on the vehicle is left on. The multimeter is bypassed with the switch during connection in case of a power surge. The tester and meter can remain connected until other computer systems shut down, isolating the drain. As a convenience, stacking banana connectors are used on the tester. This allows voltage to be measured on various locations on the vehicle during the drain test, using standard test leads.

Multi Channel Optical Fibre Verification
The multi-channel optical fibre test system is used in the development and qualification of single mode optical fibres. The fibres are exposed to environmental influences in a climatic chamber in order to analyse the data on insertion loss and reflection. In addition, the current temperature in the climatic chamber is documented. Insertion loss measurement is performed with the help of an optical power meter, laser sources and optical switches. An Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) from Exfo is used for the reflection measurements. The system was designed for the simultaneous characterization of 15 sample fibres and one reference fibre.

The Models FIM-22 and FIM-41 are portable field strength meters designed to provide precise, direct measurements of electro-magnetic fields in the 200 kHz to 5.0 MHz spectrum. These units include a receiver, integral shielded loop antenna, precision attenuator, internal calibration source, and battery power supply. With calibration accuracy traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the FIM-22 and FIM-41 meet the most exacting requirements of government and industry. Their hinged covers, on the rugged drawn aluminum cases, contain a loop antenna. Opening the cover to a vertical position connects the antenna terminals to the receiver via maintenance-free gold-plated contacts. SP4T RF Pin Diode Switches To 16 GHz
The 4-way series of absorptive and reflective switches operate from 100 MHz to 16 GHz. They are rated at 200 mW maximum input power and have a switching time of 100 ns. SP4T switches that operate up to 8 GHz have a maximum VSWR of 1.6:1 and minimum isolation of 60 dB. All absorptive and reflective switches manufactured by Pulsar Microwave require both positive and negative 5-volt supplies. Additionally, the TTL control logic operates from 0 to +5 VDC. Voltage connection is made with feed thru terminals. Ground connection is made through the chassis and turret terminals.
