The test system is designed and customized to carry out 2.55*Intest as per Table 7 (test c) of IEC 60898 (also mentioned for routine testing of MCBs. The test is done at dc current to exactly analyze and correct the bimetallic properties of the MCB as far as thermal tripping is concerned. The unit comes with a pneumatically operated test fixture with in-built dc stepper motor that is controlled by a micro controller / PC to calibrate the breaker into a narrow tripping band programmed by the user.

L Series

The L Series is the most versatile instrument that Bowman offers. It combines all of the features of the P Series with a larger sample chamber and greater X-Y stage travel. For samples larger than ~12 inches (300 mm) in any direction, the L Series is a must-have. The large sample stage and travel allows for both large parts, or large sample fixtures holding multiple parts, to be measured. The chamber is fully enclosed and boasts a capacity to hold samples up to 22″ (550mm) x 24″ (600mm) x 13″ (330mm) (LxWxH). The X-Y stage travel distance is 10″x10″ (254mm x 254mm). The standard configuration includes a 4-position multiple collimator assembly, and a variable focus camera allowing for measurement in recessed areas. As with other models, the collimator sizes and focal distances are customizable for different customer applications. The programmable X-Y stage is included, but can be removed to allow for the maximum sample height capacity (10″ (254mm) z-height with stage, 13″ (300mm) without). The solid-state PIN detector is included along with our long-life micro-focus x-ray tube. The high performance SDD detector is an optional upgrade.

The GX5960 digital subsystem represents the highest level of performance available for PXI-based digital instrumentation and features high performance pin electronics and a timing generator / sequencer in a compact, 6U PXI form factor. The GX5960 series consists of the GX5961 clock generator board with 16 driver / sensor channels and the GX5964 driver / sensor board which supports 32 bi-directional I/O channels. Up to 528 digital I/O channels can be supported by the GX5960 digital subsystem. Each digital channel features a wide drive / sense voltage range of -14 V to +26 V (maximum swing of 24 volts) which can be individually programmed for a drive hi, drive lo, sense hi, sense lo, and a load value (with commutation voltage level) – offering the user complete flexibility when creating test programs and fixtures for multiple UUTs. In addition, each channel offers a parametric measurement unit (PMU) for DC measurements.
