The 40-228 provides 32 channels of digital input and 32 channels of digital output, together with switched +12V, +5V, +3.3V and -12V supply outputs derived from the PXI backplane. Alternatively the module can be supplied with an industry standard footprint for a DC-DC converter (40-228-002) allowing the user to fit one of their own specification if required. EDFA
EDFAs are based on the light amplification in erbium-doped fiber, which are optically pumped by means of 980 nm or 1480 nm light sources. In this way, the light of a larger wavelength within the C or L band applied to the input of the amplifier is amplified, thus widening the range of optical communication links. EDFAs typically operate in saturation and the average signal power determines the average gain. The dynamics of EDFA are unaffected by the sequence and dynamics of a digital signal or channel interaction in DWDM systems. As a result, multiple channels can be bundled within the total erbium spectral amplification bandwidth. However, the total average output power in both cases is determined by the saturation power of the specific EDFA.

The mechanical equipment allows turning the tested luminaires around a vertical axis and a horizontal axis. When tested luminaires turn around horizontal axis, the detector which is at the same level with rotating table will measure the intensity of each direction at this surface. When rotating with vertical axis, the detector will measure the intensity at the vertical surface. The vertical and horizontal axis can be rotated continuously at ±180° or 0~360°. According to the measurement requirements, the system can be operated in C-γ coordinates. When getting intensity distribution data, computer will calculate other photometric parameters automatically.
