Doppler Radar Target Simulators
Automotive radar sensors play a vital role in the current development of autonomous driving. Their ability to detect objects even under adverse conditions makes them indispensable for environment-sensing tasks in autonomous vehicles. As their functional operation must be validated in-place, a fully integrated test system is required. Radar Target Simulators (RTS) are capable of executing end-of-line, over-the-air validation tests by looping back a received and afterward modified radar signal and have been incorporated into existing Vehicle-in-the-Loop (ViL) test beds before. However, the currently available ViL test beds and the RTS systems that they consist of lack the ability to generate authentic radar echoes with respect to their complexity. The paper at hand reviews the current development stage of the research as well as commercial ViL and RTS systems. Furthermore, the concept and implementation of a new test setup for the rapid prototyping and validation of ADAS functions is presented. This represents the first-ever integrated radar validation test system to comprise multiple angle-resolved radar target channels, each capable of generating multiple radar echoes. A measurement campaign that supports this claim has been conducted.

The PEM010 is a highly integrated millimeter wave transmitter that covers the 60 GHz global unlicensed spectrum allocations packaged in a standard waveguide module. Transmitter architecture is a double conversion, sliding IF with wide bandwidth capability through the up-conversion chain from baseband to carrier. The I/Q interface accepts analog baseband signals which provides for flexibility in design and applications. The baseband input optionally supports FSK/MSK modulation for non-coherent applications. The transmitter incorporates a complete waveguide interface with low-loss transition between the chip and the WR15 waveguide port. The integrated package is small and lightweight, with a simple to use multi-pin ST4 connector for power, reference clock, digital control port and baseband signals. In-Situ Cross- Stack Laser Analyzer
LS25 is an in-situ analyzer for non-contact measurement of the concentration of gases. The measuring principle of the LS25 is based on the principle of single line spectroscopy (Tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy, TDLAS). A single cross-sensitivity-free absorption line of the gas to be measured is selected in the near infrared range. A single-mode diode laser operating at room temperature scans the respective absorption line. By using an opposite receiver, the absorption caused by the sample gas is measured and from this the concentration is calculated. An automatic correction for pressure and temperature changes is possible. In addition, the transmission is displayed respectively output as a signal for preventive maintenance.
