Our pioneering experience has led us to be the world leader in the design and manufacturing of durable dynamometer equipment that stands the test of time and the 100 model has been one of our most durable models. Mustang has supplied over 50,000 variants based on the 100 chassis over the last 25-years and we estimate that about 1.5 billion tests have been performed on the 100 model during this time. The 100 series offers the small shop owner the right equipment for road testing and power checking of today’s modern automobiles and pick up trucks. The 100 is offered at an attractive price and with features that meet the needs of repair professionals more concerned with repairs than performance tuning. Optional emissions testers can be added to teach students how to use the dynamometer for reducing emissions. Today’s Fleet Managers are faced with many challenges – most important of which is maintaining a healthy bottom line. With fuel costs at an all-time high, these challenges have become increasing difficult. Fleets being transitioned from fossil fuels to electric propulsion also face challenges with durability and range to make sure routes can be completed on time each and every day. To help combat these problems and others facing fleet managers today, Mustang Dynamometer offers the MD-7500-HD Series Chassis Dynamometer – which features the most advanced diagnostic capabilities in the industry. The MD-7500-HD is designed to simulate the driving conditions that fleet vehicles encounter on the road every day in a safe and controlled shop floor environment so that critical engine and drivetrain systems can be evaluated to insure vehicles are performing properly and at maximum efficiency. What’s more, the MD-7500-HD offers several levels of testing capabilities in a modular, compact package and with capabilities that can be upgraded in the future as your needs change. Every vehicle in your fleet can now be tested and validated before and after a repair to ensure proper diagnosis and repairs have been performed. In addition to testing repaired vehicles, the MD-7500-HD can be used to test vehicles on a regular basis as a preventative maintenance measure which decreases unexpected breakdowns and allows fleet management to control fuel costs while reducing repair costs. Periodic testing keeps fuel consumption to a minimum and helps technicians identify suspect components before they fail. A proactive approach to Fleet Service can prevent unexpected engine and or drive-train failure which saves organizations thousands of dollars in lost fair revenues. At the heart of the MD-7500-HD is a set of three air-cooled eddy current power absorbers. Each absorber, or brake, can hold up to 600-hp (total power of 1,800-hp) – more than enough to simulate a fully loaded transit bus. As the systems PAU’s (brakes) are air-cooled, no water is required to or from the device – eliminating the high cost of water consumption and/or the cost of an expensive water recovery system – which can sometimes exceed the cost of the dynamometer system itself. Mustang is the only company that offers a Universal Fleet Test Bed without water supply requirements. AC Motors can be added to simulate regeneration and validate range for organizations that have transitioned to carbon free electric propulsion. The 7500 is the best solution for fleet managers looking to improve their bottom line and offer disruption-free public transportation.

MD-250-HD
The MD-250-HD series dyno (SE/DE) was designed to be a performance dynamometer first with the added benefit of being able to test 2-wheel-drive heavy-duty vehicles such as truck, buses and commercial vehicles in addition to the standard car or light duty pick-up. The 250-HD is certified in the states of Colorado, Nevada and Utah for use in loaded-mode diesel smog testing programs because of its accuracy and reliability. No other dyno in its class offers more value or better in-house motor vehicle testing capabilities than the Mustang MD-250-HD. For starters, the MD-250-HD boasts a 1,500 horsepower measurement capacity at a top speed of 175 mph and a powerful air-cooled eddy current brake provides the MD-250-HD-SE with 900-hp worth ofloading capacity for steady state testing. Loading capacity can be increased to 1,500-hp via the optional DE model. The 250-HD can be upgraded to the 250-HD-SE-M via the addition of a 100 or 200 hp AC motor for transient testing of electric buses to measure range and regeneration or for emissions testing of IC engines. Do not be fooled by its compact size – the MD-250-HD is a serious dynamometer with serious tuning capabilities. The MD-250-HD uses a powerful eddy current power absorber, a frictionless, air-cooled braking device, to enable it to apply variable and steady state loading. A complete control and data acquisition system lets you design a wide range of tests or select from a host of pre-configured tests included with the standard system. The 250-HD’s four roller design makes setting up vehicles a snap – simply drive onto the 250-HD and let the tires settle in between the rollers. The 250-HD can be installed above-ground or below-ground, it’s your choice. The above-ground system utilizes an optional premium platform and ramp system with an above-ground restraint kit. The addition of an axle pull-down kit help keep the tires from slipping or trying to “climb out” of the rollers.

The 150 series 2WD dynamometer is a compact offering that let’s you tune street cars without a large dedicated space. The 150 portable includes a pallet jack modification on one end of the frame and two bottle jacks on the other allow you to move this dyno in your shop. MD-ASM-150-AWD (4×4)
The MD-ASM-150-AWD (4×4) tests both axles of the test vehicle under the same imposed load; while at the same time providing for front-to-rear axle speed synchronization. Front-to-back roller speed synchronization protects AWD center differentials, provides for a means to safely test 2WD vehicles with traction control, and allows for testing to be performed under real-world load conditions. The MD-ASM-150-AWD (4×4) accommodates wheelbases from 86 to 128 inches (218 – 325 cm) without moving parts.
