Decibel Meters
-
A decibel meter is a measuring instrument used to assess noise or sound levels by measuring sound pressure. Often referred to as a sound pressure level (SPL) meter, decibel (dB) meter, noise meter or noise dosimeter, a sound level meter uses a microphone to capture sound. The sound is then evaluated within the device and acoustic measurement values are displayed. Here at PCE Instruments, we offer two types or classes assigned to decibel meters: type 1 / class 1 or type 2 / class 2. For assessing noise in basic industrial, commercial, educational, recreational or residential applications, a type 2 / class 2 decibel meter usually will suffice. For precision-grade assessments often made in a laboratory, a type 1 / class 1 sound level meter primarily is used.

Temperature Sensors
-
We offer a variety of models of type-K temperature sensors / thermocouples. There is a standard temperature sensor, such as: surface sensor, penetration sensor, immersion sensor or special sensor with an adhesive tape, a patch, a Temperature Sensor overview screw, or a flexible cable. Consider the different combinations of materials and measurement ranges of a temperature sensor. With the help of thermal elements, temperature measurement problems can be solved in industrial processes, in machines and installations, such as in the environmental sector, and reliable results obtained.

Roughness Testers
-
Roughness is an important parameter when trying to find out whether a surface is suitable for a certain purpose. Rough surfaces often wear out more quickly than smoother surfaces. Rougher surfaces are normally more vulnerable to corrosion and cracks, but they can also aid in adhesion. A roughness tester is used to quickly and accurately determine the surface texture or surface roughness of a material. A roughness tester shows the measured roughness depth (Rz) as well as the mean roughness value (Ra) in micrometers or microns (µm). Measuring the roughness of a surface involves applying a roughness filter. Different international standards and surface texture or surface finish specifications recommend the use of different roughness filters. For example, a Gaussian filter often is recommended in ISO standards.

Torque Meters
-
Torque meter is available in two different versions: handheld meters or tabletop meters. Torque meter have a wide range of applications. Handheld torque meter is mainly used for industry while tabletop torque meter is the ideal tool for laboratories. Our Torque meters come with a RS-232 port to transfer torque values to a PC or a portable computer. This is very helpful if you want to save the data and stand the chance to compare what you have measured afterwards. Another possibility is that you aim to do long-term-measurements. There the interface and the software are two very useful features that are given to you.Tabletop torque meters can be equipped with a printer (option). You can also order a ISO calibration certificate as an option. This ensures that the device has been calibrated and works perfectly including a measurement with only small deviances that can still be tolerated and do not influence the product's functions. We can offer you torque meters that can measure up to a maximum measuring value of 500 Nm.

Earth Ground Meters
-
The earth tester determines ground resistance for both specific and ohm resistances. The earth tester is powered by batteries and have a clock timer function (3 minutes), Data-Hold function, a 3 ½ positions LCD display and their dimensions are 163 x 100 x 50 mm. Resistance ranges come from 20, 200 to 2000 ohms. They have a resolution of 10 / 100 mΩ / 1 Ω. The earth tester measure resistance by means of a constant reverse current (approx. 800 Hz, 2 mA). To measure ground voltage a rectifier is used (5 kΩ/V aprox. 40...500 Hz). The earth tester PKT-2630 series have a small format as well as multiple functions.

Gas Detectors
-
At PCE Instruments you will find a professional quality gas detector / gas detection instrument for everyday use. The gas detector meets the requirements for personal safety and issued mainly for the detection of methane, hydrogen sulphide, carbon monoxide and oxygen levels (along with 50 other possible gases). The auto-calibration function allows for easy recalibration of the gas detector. Depending on the model, the gas detector has the ability to store data and later transfer recorded values to a computer. One accessory is the manual aspirator, with this device you can draw gas directly into the gas detection instrument via a 2m long tube with which you will be able to measure gas levels without having to be in direct contact with the gas source or to be able to determine the levels of gas in places that are difficult to access. Furthermore, we have a fixed installation gas detector in many different models available.

Moisture Testers for Wood
-
Here you will find a moisture tester for wood to determine absolute moisture in different wood types. Newly-cut logs can have a moisture content of 80% or more, depending on the type. Since wood shrinks substantially when dried, it must be dried before being used in construction or most other applications. This is most often done using a large furnace called a kiln. The air drying method may also be used, but this is much slower. With the help of the moisture tester for wood you will be able to measure with high accuracy moisture in, not only raw wood, but also rolled paper products, planks, slats, beams, plywood, panels, particle board, main beams, window frames, etc., anything wooden. There are two ways of measuring moisture, these two ways are with or without damaging the material. The majority of types of moisture testers we offer at PCE do not damage the wood, or damage it very slightly. The moisture tester for wood is characterized by the measuring principle and the moisture sensors that can be adapted to it. The moisture tester for wood has special characteristics such as an automatic compensation of temperature. Besides, data can be stored and transferred to a PC or laptop, or characteristic curves can be programmed for specific wood types (only with the model FMD). Our moisture tester are of the highest quality standards in the industry, and are durable and easy to use.

Infrared Thermometers
-
Our infrared thermometers make it possible to measure a temperature without contact by way of determining an object emitting infrared radiation. Here you will find Infrared Thermometers for measuring temperature without contact and contain a targeting light to ensure the correct surface area is being measured. An infrared thermometer can only measure the temperature of exposed surfaces and not through glass. Some infrared thermometers possess a preset emissivity value, and others allow the user to choose the emissivity value depending on the surface material being measured, whether it's paper, wood or metallic surfaces.

Radioactivity Meters
-
At PCE Instruments you will find three types of radioactivity meters: Alpha radioactivity meter, meter for Alpha, Beta and Gamma radioactivity, radioactivity meter for human beings. It is very important to measure radioactivity as well as to classify radioactivity values. An example of Gamma radioactivity: Terrestrial gamma radiation is measured according to general values from 0,03 – 0,3 µSv / h (micro Sievert/ hour). This "normal“ oscillation range is conditioned by contents in the ground of natural radioactive elements such as uranium, potassium, etc.
