The QTI Sensor is a close-proximity infrared emitter/receiver that is able to differentiate between a dark surface) with low IR reflectivity) and a light surface (with high IR reflectivity). These little sensors can be very handy for line following, maze navigation, or sensing the outer rim of a SumoBot ring. Wiring options allow it to be used digitally for fast black/white line following, or as an analog sensor to detect different shades of gray. A daylight filter is built into the sensor.

The X-Band Motion Detector’s sensor is a common component in security systems and automatic door openers and can detect movements within a room, yard, or even on the other side of a wall. The X-Band Motion Detector operates in the X-band frequency, at 10.525 GHz and indicates detected movements with oscillations in its high/low output. Sensitivity is manually adjustable with a potentiometer, offering direct line of sight detection from roughly 8 to slightly over 30 ft (~2.4 to 9+ m).

The Lightware SF000/B is an ultra-small and light open-frame LIDAR laser rangefinder designed for size and weight constraint applications. Using a time-of-flight system to make very fast, accurate distance and speed measurements. The Altimeter Module MS5607 is a high resolution (20 cm) electronic altimeter sensor that gives highly accurate altitude, pressure, and temperature readings. The module includes a high-linearity barometric pressure sensor and a high-resolution temperature output, allowing implementation of an altimeter/thermometer without any additional sensors. Different operation modes allow the user to optimize for conversion speed or current consumption. The module is designed for use with a large variety of microcontrollers with different voltage requirements. This module is well-suited for high-altitude ballooning and has been used with great success in that role.
