Geiger Counters
A geiger counter detects nuclear radiation by measuring the emission of ionizing radiation of alpha particles, beta particles and gamma rays. Also referred to as a radiation detector, a geiger counter consists of two main elements: the processing electronics and the geiger tube. The geiger tube is filled with low-pressure inert gas like helium, argon or neon. If radioactive radiation occurs, the inert gas is ionized. An anode within the geiger tube registers the quantity of ionized particles numerically correlating with the strength of the radioactive radiation. The radioactivity measurement is then displayed on the LCD screen of the geiger counter or radiation detector.It is very important to measure radioactivity as well as to classify radioactivity values. For example, terrestrial gamma radiation is measured according to general values from 0.03 - 0.3 µSv/h (microsievert / hour). This "normal" oscillation range is conditioned by natural radioactive elements in the ground such as uranium and potassium. To calculate this factor, one must take into consideration cosmic radiation. For example, when considering cosmic radiation, the maximum radioactivity content at Schneefernerhaus, the highest-located German environmental research station, is approximately equal to 110 µSv/h.At PCE Instruments, you will find three types of geiger counter or raditation detection devices to help you measure radioactivity: 1) alpha radioactivity meters, 2) meters for detecting alpha, beta and gamma radioactivity and 3) radioactivity meters for human beings.

This MRM library includes two methods: one for phospholipid classification by comprehensive analysis of the main phospholipids in biological samples, and one for fatty acid composition determination created using analytical results obtained with the classification method. BXL is an extra load unit designed to be used with DV Power’s BLU series battery testers. However, this unit is a universal add-on device. Because of that, it is compatible, as an additional load, with any other discharge/capacity tester in the market.In case when discharge current exceeds the capacity of a single BLU device, BXL can increase the discharge capacity. There are no limitations on the number of extra load units that can be connected in parallel to the main battery tester.A system of BLU and BXL instruments enables performing the capacity test in an accurate, user-friendly way. Also, all instruments are in accordance with battery testing standards: IEEE 450-2010, IEEE 1188-2005, IEEE 1106-2015, IEC 60896-11/22, and other relevant standards.These units can be used on any type of battery string, such as lead-acid, Li-Ion, Ni-Cd, etc. They test battery strings with voltages in the range of 5,25 – 500 V DC. On the other hand, current up to 250 A can be discharged through the BXL internal structure.The instrument simulates a constant resistance load during the discharge test. The Model 300-series magnetizers are designed to handle a variety of magnetizing applications and materials, from small Alnico parts to large blocks of neodymium-iron. Each of these magnetizers feature patented ECS (Electronic Capacitance Switching) technology, which allows the user to change the capacitance of the unit through the front panel. By setting the charging voltage and capacitance of the magnetizer properly, the user can then scale the output energy of the unit to match the magnetizing fixture being used. The 300-series magnetizers also includes a peak current meter, which automatically captures the peak current of the magnetizing pulse once it occurs. A safety circuit internally discharges the capacitor banks if mains power is removed from the magnetizer or if the cabinet is opened during operation. When connected to a suitable magnetizing fixture, the magnetizer is able to disable its front panel controls if the fixture overheats. Other features include a lockout keyswitch and a current sense output jack (this connects to an oscilliscope for viewing of the magnetizing pulse). All 300-series magnetizers can be modified for computer control, photocell trigger, or autocharge operation.
