The RMO-E instruments are designed and ideal for testing protective bonding (grounding) of equipment following the standard IEC 61010-1. Also, they can measure the resistance of high, middle and low voltage circuit breakers, high-current bus bar joints, cable splices, and welding joints. The instruments accurately measure not only in factory environments but also in high-induction fields and substations.Both models generate a true DC ripple-free (less than 1 %) current with automatically regulated test ramps. Shielding Effectiveness/ Conductivity Test

The EM-2107A is a standard test fixture for evaluation of the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of planar material. The fixture is an enlarged section of coaxial transmission line and complies fully with the requirements of ASTM test method D4935-1. The measured data relates to the shielding effectiveness due to a plane wave (far field EM wave) from which near field values for magnetic and electric fields may be inferred. The EM-2107A is provided with a reference standard test specimen, a dynamic range specimen. Dynamic range of greater than 80dB is achievable, although the cables and other test system components usually establishes the limiting factors.

High Temperature Self-Supporting Furnace Extensometers (1200 C)

Epsilon developed this unique high temperature extensometer for testing metals, ceramics, and composites at the high temperatures produced by furnaces and induction heating systems. A combination of features make these extensometers easier to use and better in performance than other similar high temperature extensometers.The units are held on the specimen by light, flexible ceramic fiber cords. These make the extensometer self-supporting on the specimen. No furnace mounting brackets are required. The side load on the test sample is greatly reduced because of the self-supporting design and light weight of the sensor. Most materials testing furnaces with a side cut-out for an extensometer will readily accept a Model 3448. For induction heating systems, a different ceramic cord placement allows the extensometer to easily pass between the coils.The combination of radiant heat shields and convection cooling fins allow this model to be used at specimen temperatures up to 1200℃ (2200°F) without any cooling. An optional tiny air fan does enhance stability at the highest temperatures and is recommended for the highest accuracy and for tests with small elongations. The fan comes with a magnetic base for support so it can be mounted at any convenient location near the extensometer. Fan cooling is not generally needed for induction heated systems. High purity alumina ceramic rods are used. These are available in lengths as required to fit your furnace. A spare set is included with every extensometer. Specify chisel, vee chisel or conical contact points as desired.Most units operate equally well in tension and compression. Thus tensile, compression and cyclic tests like low cycle fatigue can all be performed with a single unit.For vacuum furnaces, special models are available. Epsilon can also provide a radiant heat transfer cooled version. This requires that the extensometer module be surrounded by a water cooled enclosure with a front slot for the ceramic rods.

Round Wire Coil Inductors
Round wire coil (RWC) inductors come in six platform sizes and enable the highest efficiency of any SMT inductor through the use of a low loss ferrite core material which minimizes AC losses and also eliminates thermal ageing. The use of round magnetic wire instead of rectangular flat coils enables a lower cost while still maintaining a low DCR and small footprint. The platforms have passed the AEC-Q200 stress test qualification proving the designs robustness and suitability to difficult environments but the parts are not IATF certified. The EM-2108 is a standard test fixture for evaluation of the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (SE) of planar materials. The fixture is a section of coaxial transmission line broken to allow the insertion of planar test materials. Although ASTM D4935-10 is currently limited to an upper frequency of 1.5 GHz, the EM-2108 meets and complies fully with both the impedance and SE requirements called out in ASTM test method D4935-10 up to 10 GHz. These results are shown in Figures 1 & 2. The measured data relates to the shielding effectiveness due to a plane wave (far field EM wave) from which near field values for magnetic and electric fields may be inferred.

The RFS set consits of three passive near field probes designed for the use in a measurement scanner during the development of E-field and magnetic field. They are designed for frequency ranges of 30 MHz to 3 GHz. The probe heads of the RFS set allow for close measurements needed to correctly localize interference sources on an electronic assembly. They document the whole image of the device under test`s near field. The scanner probes have a sheath current attenuation and are electrically shielded. They are connected to a spectrum analyzer or an oscilloscope with a 50 Ω input. They do not have an internal terminating resistance. The measuring signal can be increased with PA 203 or PA 303 preamplifier. On request RFS, LFS and XFS scanner probes can be produced.
