The reports contain a cover page, general description, sample identification (including photos), clause list (core evaluation), and test data. Unlike CB scheme reports, the test data section is a self contained record for all items inspected, measured or tested, with full details such as test engineer, sample identification, testing dates, environment, test equipment and methods used. CHNO Combustion Services

Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen are determined using a 2400 Perkin-Elmer CHN Analyzer. This analyzer uses combustion to convert the sample elements to simple gasses, i.e. CO2, H2O, & N2. Upon entering the analyzer, the sample is combusted in pure oxygen environment at temperatures in the range of 1200-1500 F. The product gasses are separated under steady state conditions, and measured as a function of thermal conductivity.

This makes it ideal for locating short distance runs such as service drops and to detect buried ferrous metal objects such as buried valve box covers, buried tanks, and manhole covers. The advanced filtering of the VM-585‘s metal detector rejects materials such as bottle caps and aluminum cans and zeros in on finding only ferrous materials. The manual gain control allows it to be controlled and able to work close to large metal objects such as automobiles and chain link fences while still looking for the targets underground. The VM-585 will locate through asphalt, concrete, or grass and in temporary conditions such as snow.
