ABB Ability mobile gas leak detection system uses ABB’s patented Off-Axis Integrated Cavity Output Spectroscopy (OA-ICOS) technique which has a sensitivity and precision more than 3000 times greater than legacy methods. This enables identification of leaks several hundred feet away from the source. Current traditional leak detection technology is slow, laborious and costly. Operators walk on foot near the pipeline with hand-held sensors making paper-based reports.This is slow and can lead to dangerous leaks being missed or not identified in a timely manner. ABB’s Ability mobile gas leak detection system delivers a low cost per leak solution with low false positives. Reporting includes mapping of the leaks available via a mobile app and measurements as Cloud-based service. The system consists of ABB’s Methane/Ethane Analyzer, a GPS, a sonic anemometer and proprietary leak detection software that presents real-time geospatial maps of multiple gas concentrations in real time. The software’s sophisticated leak detection algorithm combines the system’s measurements of gas concentrations (CH4, C2H6), local coordinates (GPS) and local wind velocity (sonic anemometer) to estimate the location of the leak. Readings are stored in the device and can be transmitted in real-time to the cloud for centralized monitoring.

Concrete Strength Testers

This category of products comprises the range of instruments utilized to evaluate construction material strength. The range of instruments is typically considered to be two parts. The first are non-destructive field tests of compressive strength. The second are tensile field tester systems to either determine the tensile strength of an overlay or bond material, or tensile strength of anchors embedded in the concrete. The first group is pure Non-Destructive Testing where the strength of the material is determined by correlation to another parameter more easily available and readily apparent. These are widely used standard tests and as such have seen use throughout the world.

Back Plane Tester

This machine is used to test back planes used in telecommunications central stations. An operator loads a completed point to point wired back plane onto a retractable shelf on the front of the tester. Table continues and the disk falls through a hole into the bin. The shelf is pushed back into the machine where it is held in place by pneumatic operated clamps. Then a series of pneumatic cylinders sequentially insert a test card into each location in the back plane. A remote instrument performs a complete point to point continuity, short and hi pot test on all connections in the back plane.
