The INSITU program interprets statical and dynamical geotechnical in situ tests. In order to interpret the SPT tests, the program utilises the main correlations that are normally used to determine the geotechnical parameters of a soil. One should enter the geometrical and geotechnical parameters pertaining to the stratigraphy surveyed trough drilling and the number of blows relative to each test; some corrective parameters can be entered that enable one to limit the perturbations in the interpretation of the data caused by the way the test is performed and the type of instrument that is used.

SonarMite 'Plus' App
The SonarMite+ App is based on the free SonarMite App but offering additional features. The software is an Android App designed to work with the popular SonarMite Bluetooth Echo Sounder used in hydrographic surveying applications. With the demise of Hyperterminal as a standard terminal application the end user is left with little choice for a simple communications program with serial data devices. Connecting via Bluetooth is cleaner than USB cable, there are no wires and the connection is independent of baud rate and other serial port settings. Most terminal programs are not easily configured with commands to directly interface with instruments such as SonarMite.

DVL-Aided INS Module
INS options include the Kearfott T24, the Kearfott T16 and the IxBlue ROVINS-154. These are navigation-quality INS systems which provide very accurate short-term navigation and motion sensing. They are integrated with a DVL (and GPS when surfaced) to provide a highly accurate AUV navigation solution. With the T24 INS and 600kHz DVL the navigation accuracy for the AUV going in a straight line is better than 5.5m in 6km (1hr submerged), or ~25m for the T16 (same conditions). ROVINS-154 accuracy figures are available on enquiry. The navigation accuracy is improved when running a lawnmower survey pattern, resulting in about 2m/hour navigation drift rate for the T24/600kHzDVL (conditions and survey pattern dependent).
