Frequency converter FC5-29M is a measurement instrument which is designed for spectrum conversion of 75 - 170 GHz to 1 MHz ÷ 2,6 GHz range and automatic frequency measurement of sinusoidal signals. When combined with the 1 MHz - 3,0 GHz spectrum analyzer, FC5-29M can be used for examination of the continuous and periodically repeating pulse signals.The instrument is meant to be used for measurement of various signal sources, radio-transmitting instruments, synthesizers, frequency converters, measurement generators and also for adjustment and verification of various radio-transmitting or communication instruments in laboratory and workshop conditions.

The devices of the FDMX series splits a sum signal in frequency division multiplex into the individual broadcast bands and the L1 satellite navigation band (GNSS). Additionally, DC loads are provided for each antenna input to simulate active antennas. The presence of remote power supply is indicated by an LED on the units.

Frequency counter models can be direct or reciprocal counters. Direct counting models count signal cycles for a specified period, called the gate time, and resolution is in Hertz. Reciprocal counters provide faster, higher resolution performance, with resolution listed is in digits/second. When shopping for a counter, remember to review resolution and accuracy as separate specifications. The resolution of a frequency counter is the smallest change it will detect between closely spaced frequencies.

Recent trends in aircraft power systems use variable frequency (VF) generators instead of fixed frequency of 400Hz.
