Profiling Systems

ICK profiling systems measure, detect, classify, count, and check vehicles in 3D. They determine the number of axles on heavy goods trucks for vehicle classification and measure vehicle dimensions to rectify loading errors. The systems recognize overheated vehicles approaching tunnels and other entrances and activate diversions. They also monitor external train contours. If a limit value is exceeded, the system triggers an alarm. All this contributes to safety on roads and railroads.

RPG's profiling radiometers are mainly used to derive vertical profiles of atmospheric temperature and humidity (RPG-HATPRO). The infrared radiometer extension allows to cloud base height and ice cloud detection.The radiometer series covers high-resolution temperature profiling of the boundary layer and low-humidity applications. All models of the series provide accurate total amounts of atmospheric water vapor and cloud liquid cloud. The YODA profiler (“Yoing” Ocean Data Acquisition Profiler) is a “tow-yo” instrument to profile the water column with high spatial resolution from small boats without occupying much space. The instrument is provided with a deployment winch and sensors measuring conductivity, temperature, pressure, chlorophyll, turbidity and dissolved oxygen. The brush at the top of the instrument allows for a stabilizing effect on the free-fall sinking speed, which is approximately constant at 0.2 m/s. All data are stored internally and downloaded into a PC through a wet-connector and interface.

The water quality profiler, AAQ 1183 has been redesigned as AAQ-RINKO with an optical fast response (63% response in water, 0.4 s) DO sensor, RINKO. Conventional water quality profilers with a slow response DO sensor require holding the instrument for a certain period at the measurement depths. AAQ-RINKO makes vertical measurements possible with a profiling speed of 0.5 m/s, similar to CTD observation, thereby significantly reducing the observation time. In addition to conductivity, temperature, depth, chlorophyll, turbidity, DO and pH, AAQ-RINKO also enables simultaneous installation of PAR (Photosynthetic Available Radiation) and ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) sensors. The processing unit is available in three types in accordance with the observation applications.
