Terminator
The 60-983 is an LXI compatible Wired Trigger Bus Terminator (WTB) designed to be attached to the end of a WTB cable. The LXI WTB uses a transmission line cable to connect LXI devices together that support the WTB capability of the LXI standard. Like all transmissions it needs to be correctly terminated to avoid reflections that could change the signal amplitude along the cable and generate timing jitter or trigger errors. The 60-983 is a simple terminator that can be placed at each end of the WTB chain to correctly terminate the transmission line with minimal reflections.

The stacked Logarithmic Periodic Dipole Antenna consists of two ordinary Log.-Per. structures. The excellent characteristics (flat gain over a large bandwidth, low SWR) of the ordinary Log.-Per. designs could be maintained using the stacked LP design. The stacked design helps to focus the directional pattern of the H-plane somewhat, resulting in a typical gain improvement of ca. 2-3 dB compared to an ordinary LPDA. This is especially important for immunity testing, where a maximum fieldstrength and a good field uniformity is required. The beamwidth in the E-plane and the H-plane are nearly identical, providing an optimised illumination of the EuT with minimised ground reflection influence. Further the STLP 9128 C has an excellent cross-polar rejection.

The multi-channel optical fibre test system is used in the development and qualification of single mode optical fibres. The fibres are exposed to environmental influences in a climatic chamber in order to analyse the data on insertion loss and reflection. An Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) from Exfo is used for the reflection measurements.
