The necessity of a wireless system test has risen by the spread of recent wireless telecommunication equipment as shown in cellular phone, wireless LAN, RF-ID tag and ETC (Electronic Toll Collection system). It is necessary for a wireless test to be performed in anechoic environment in which an external noise is intercepted and a radio wave does not reflect internally. An anechoic chamber (room version of a shield box) is proper facilities but needs a wide space and a huge cost. Especially, the equipment under wireless system test on the production line can not radiate any signal radio wave outside before approval. The shield box satisfies these conditions.

Thorlabs' LLD1530 Frequency-Locked Laser is a narrow linewidth, DFB-laser-diode-based, turnkey system with a vacuum emission wavelength of 1532.8323 nm and a high SMSR of at least 35 dB. The laser frequency is actively stabilized to a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)-traceable molecular transition of acetylene and has an absolute accuracy at start-up that is better than ±25 MHz. The emission frequency immediately after start-up is then maintained with a ±25 MHz stability, providing an overall frequency accuracy of ±50 MHz. The LLD1530 is an accurate frequency reference designed to provide low-noise laser emission with excellent frequency stability, accuracy, and precision immediately at start-up. This source is ideal for use in demanding FTIR instrumentation, instrument calibration, gas sensing, and coherent telecommunications applications.

Recently, a lot of equipment have taken the high frequency or microwave technology according to the advancement and the spread of the telecommunication equipment. As a result, the handheld spectrum analyzer to analyze the signal by the frequency domain is necessaries now. The handheld spectrum analyzer is roughly classified into a heterodyne method and a Fourier transform method. The heterodyne method is also called the swept frequency method and makes it possible to measure up to tens of GHz though only for the steady signal. On the other hand, the Fourier transform method is also called the real time method and can handle an unsteady signal though the low measuring frequency range up to tens of MHz. As for our spectrum analyzer or signal analyzer, the MSA300/400 series adopts the swept frequency method, and the MSA500 series adopts both the swept frequency method and the Fourier transform method.
