As the systems PAU’s (brakes) are air-cooled, no water is required to or from the device – eliminating the high cost of water consumption and/or the cost of an expensive water recovery system – which can sometimes exceed the cost of the dynamometer system itself. With the T24 INS and 600kHz DVL the navigation accuracy for the AUV going in a straight line is better than 5.5m in 6km (1hr submerged), or ~25m for the T16 (same conditions).
