Circulators

The most common application of a circulator is as a duplexer, allowing the transmitter and receiver in a radio or radar unit to share a common antenna. Energy is transferred from the RF Source to the antenna during transmit, and from the antenna to the receiver during the receive cycle. In each case the circulator functions to isolate the inactive port from the propagated signal. Most importantly, the transmitter output is not passed to the receiver input, preventing the high transmitter power from damaging the sensitive receiver input circuits.

CherryTemp is a temperature controller based on two independent Peltier channels, allowing for very accurate temperature control and ultra-fast shifts from 5°C to 45°C. A thermalization liquid circulates from a reservoir to the heat exchangers (heating/cooling Peltier elements) where it is thermalized to a target temperature. Once thermalized, this liquid can be quickly injected to a microfluidic device (CherryTemp chip) mounted near the sample. Because of the small thermal mass (the distance between the microfluidic chip and the sample), the temperature transfer is very fast (less than 10 seconds) and of unprecedented accuracy due to a feedback loop control of the room temperature and the heat-sink played by immersion objective lenses.

The AC500 determines calorific value, a key indicator of quality and value in solid and liquid fuels, through measurement of the heat released after combustion of a sample. This stand-alone benchtop unit uses a fully-integrated circulation system for a compact footprint—no additional heaters or coolers required. An integral water-measuring station simplifies sample preparation, and a Windows®-based operating system uses an electronic thermometer accurate to 0.0001°C to measure temperature every six seconds. Two-channel correction is possible through constant temperature monitoring in both the outer jacket and the calorimeter proper.

Eddy-Current Brake Dynamometers (WB Series) are ideal for applications requiring high speeds and also when operating in the middle to high power range. Eddy-Current Brakes provide increasing torque as the speed increases, reaching peak torque at rated speed. The dynamometers have low inertia as a result of small rotor diameter. Brake cooling is provided by a water circulation system, which passes inside the stator to dissipate heat generated by the braking power. The water cooling in the WB provides high continuous power ratings (max. 140 kW). The WB dynamometers have accuracy ratings of 0.3% to 0.5% full scale ( 2% for WB 2.7), depending on size and system configuration. Additional options include: high-speed version, speed pickup, mechanical rotor blocking device, OEM version IS and vertical mounting.
