SAGE Millimeter wave rectangular gain horns, also called pyramidal gain horns, are offered as both standard and custom models with a rectangular waveguide interface. The pyramidal gain horns only support linear polarization. With a calibrated gain chart, these horns can be used to measure the gain of other antennas by comparing the generated signal levels of both. For this reason, these horns are also referred to as standard gain horns. The listed models offer 23 dB nominal gain, 10/11 degrees typical half power beamwidth and 14 dB/30 dB typical side lobe levels at the center frequency of the band. These horns cover full waveguide bandwidths within the frequency range of 8.2 to 170 GHz. In addition to the models listed below, models with 10, 15, 20 and 25 dB gain and other frequency bands are also available.

Analog Output Module
ADLINIK PXI-2501 and PXI-2502 are high-speed, high-performance analog output multifunction PXI modules. These devices are able to update up to 8-CH, 12-bit analog outputs imultaneously sustaining 1 MS/s. The reference sources and output polarities are programmable individually per channel. Combine this with the multiplying PXI architecture, ADLINK PXI-2500 series PXI modules can generate complex modulated analog signals. The hardware-based arbitrary waveform generation frees CPU intervention even when all analog outputs are updating at full speed, and the lengths of waveforms are only limited by the system memory. The PI-41400 is a dual channel Clock Driver card capable of operating up to 190 MHz into a 50-ohm load and up to 80 MHz at an amplitude of 8 volts into a 1-megohm load. Into a high impedance load the output voltage range is from a –3 volts to 8 volts with the output pulse amplitude ranging from 0.5 V to 9 V. When driving a 50 load the voltage range is –1.5 volts to 4.5 volts with the output pulse amplitude ranging from 0.25 V to 4.5 V. The rise and fall times of the output pulse are variable from 1.2 ns to 9 ns into a 50-ohm load and <5 ns to 9 ns into a HiZ load. The output pulse amplitude and the load being driven determine the range of variability. The driver output can be set for tri-state operation and the output polarity can be set for ‘Normal’ or ‘Inverted’ operation through software.

The 2-MGEM Optical Anisotropy Factor Measurement System is a normal-incidence polarization reflection microscope designed to measure the sample Mueller matrix and is a 2008 R&D 100 Award Winner. This system is designed specifically to evaluate the Optical Anisotropy Factor (OPTAF) of cross sections of TRISO nuclear fuel pyrocarbon layers. Other possible material characterizations include measuring Mueller matrix elements of other crystals, carbon compounds, and thin film coatings (e.g. surfacedeposition films) at normal incidence. The 2-MGEM can also measure retardation (d), circular diattenuation (CD) and the polarization factor (ß). These parameters are not measurable using older techniques, since those techniques do not incorporate a compensating optical element.
