This is the SparkFun Decade Resistance Box, an involved PTH soldering kit that allows you to quickly and accurately dial in a specific resistance value between 0 and 999,990 Ω, in 10 Ω increments. The concept is simple, a decade box is a tool that contains resistors of many values that can be accessed via mechanical switches. All you need to do is just adjust the knobs to output any of the discrete resistances offered by the box. Once assembled, each kit will have controls that correspond to the digits in a decimal number - a control for the tens position, a control for the hundreds position, and so on.

Dual channel breakout board for the MAX31865 RTD-to-Digital converter from Maxim. Two breakout hardware configurations are available standard, designed to interface with either the PT100 or PT1000 platinum RTDs. For non-standard applications, including thermistors, custom hardware configurations can be accommodated. Contact Technical Support for more information. RTD devices may be wired in 2, 3 or 4-wire configurations using the 4-pin screw terminal input. The MAX31865 breakout is interfaced via 3 or 4-wire SPI with a data-ready output for specific operating modes. An LDO and a high-speed level shifter are included to allow interfacing with microcontroller devices between 3.0V and 5V (all Arduinos, Raspberry PI, etc) without sacrificing device performance.

Transcat stocks the decade boxes for your precision measurement applications. Using a series of resistors, capacitors or inductors, a decade box simulates electrical values. Switches are arranged in decades (sections of 10) where values from 0-9 are selected. Configured boxes can be substituted into a circuit as a component to determine the appropriate value for circuit operation. They can also be connected to input devices for testing.
