A chassis dynamometer smoke tester (CDST) is used to test diesel emissions when the engine is under load. This is of course a much more realistic test than the commonly used free acceleration test. The PCS500AU is a digital storage oscilloscope that uses a computer and its monitor to display waveforms. All standard oscilloscope functions are available through the supplied Windows program.
