WDM
It is highly desirable to reduce the number of cables required to communicate between spaces on Navy ships due to increased weight, cost and maintenance concerns. To reduce weight and expense, copper-based NTDS parallel and serial type cables can be converted to fiber optic and multiplexed using Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology. WDM technology allows for multiple fiber optic wavelengths to be combined in a single fiber and then separated back to individual fibers at the distant end. Using Coarse WDM (CWDM) which utilizes wavelengths 20nm apart ranging from 1271 nm to 1611 nm, provides for up to 18 optical wavelengths to be combined into a single fiber. Optionally Dense WDM (DWDM) can be used allowing for up to 160 optical wavelengths.

Remote Data Acquisition
Sometimes your sensors or the piece of equipment you are trying to control is not in a convenient place to have a PC close by. The sensors may be widely distributed through out your plant and it just wouldn’t be cost effective to run all your wiring to where the PC is. In addition, low level signals are more accurately acquired when digitized close to the signal source. In all these cases our REMOTE ACCES line of products will help. The REMOTE ACCES pods are intelligent, sensor to computer interfaces. Each pod can be used as an autonomous data logger to acquire data for later download. Or as many as 31 pods may be connected on a single two wire multidrop RS-485 network allowing a cable distance of up to 4000 ft. You can also go wireless and extend your range by adding RS-485 wireless transceivers to your serial port. Each unit comes in a rugged NEMA 4 enclosure and can withstand harsh industrial and marine environments.

The PXIe-1486 combines the Texas Instruments Flat Panel Display Link™ (FPD-Link™) interface with the Xilinx FPGA for high-throughput vision and imaging applications. This module provides a high-speed digital interface for using and testing modern advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous drive (AD) camera sensors and electronic control units (ECUs). Additionally, the PXIe-1486 makes use of a combination of FPD-Link™ serializers and deserializers with a Xilinx FPGA to provide a high-throughput and customizable FPD-Link™ interface on PXI. The IRIG-B TTL signal is a time synchronization protocol that can be transmitted up to 50m maximum using coaxial cable. So the relay which is to be received the IRIG-B TTL signal may be far away from the IRIG-B source. The relay may be not able to synchronize with the GPS. To avoid such an incident in the field, some of the relays have provision to receive IRIG-B RS485 signal. The IRIG-B RS485 signal can able travel up to 1200m without any booster. All Time source equipment may not be supplied with IRIG-B RS485 signal output. The converter will act as a bridge between GPS Time source and Relays for time synchronization.
