Depending on the user preference, the Cable Function Generator and Cable Identifier Unit can be jointly housed in a rugged briefcase, or alternatively, for the user requiring a more rugged unit, can be delivered as two individual units each with their own carry-case. With the Cable Identifier Set, power optimum levels are selected by means of a rotary switch and the power levels are displayed on a meter located on the Cable Function Generator. As the Cable Identifier Unit is capable of detecting magnetic fields around mains cables it has the added advantage of the user being able to use this as a stand-alone unit to detect power cable configuration.

The ColorPAL is a miniature color and light sensor which, through its RGB LED, doubles as a color generator. For sensing color, the ColorPAL uses its LED to illuminate a sample, one color component at a time, along with a broad-spectrum light-to-voltage converter to measure the light reflected back. The amount of light reflected from the sample under illumination from each red, green, and blue LED can be used to determine the sample’s color. The ColorPAL works with non-fluorescent reflective surfaces, preferably those in contact with its light shroud.

The DSCUSB-PT is a compact, high-precision potentiometer input module; converting a resistance based input (potentiometer) to a digital output. Can be used with resistance based sensors to indicate position, rotation and angle. Aimed at applications which require high accuracy. Simply by plugging the device into a PC, data can be extracted from the potentiometer input to the DSCUSB-PT for a wide range of applications. This is achieved using the DSCUSB Toolkit software, which is a simple configuration tool designed specifically for configuring DSCUSB modules. The A994 is an open circuit locator for electric and telephone cables wind on the reel; it gives the position of the fault from the inside or outside end of the cable, in percentage to the total cable length. The instrument measures the ratio of the capacitances of the two sections of failed conductor using two high precision i/v converters. The advantage of this method is due to the fact that the measurement error depends almost exclusively on the dimensional inhomogeneity of the cable. The A994 has the unique feature to permit the location of fault in cables with all broken wires. This instrument locates breaks in cables with a total capacity between 2 nF and 5 uF. The distance to fault is displayed on a large LCD display.
