A light meter is a very sensitive electronic measuring device used to help monitor the illumination of any given area. Most light meter devices are small in size, simple to operate and equipped with an easy-to-read lighted screen made of special glass. Typically, a heavy-duty housing protects the light sensor inside the light meter from damage. A light meter is used for measuring brightness in lux (lx), foot candle (fc) or candela per square meter (cd/m²)measuring units. Some light meter devices are equipped with an internal memory or data logger to record and save measurements. The measurement of light intensity with a light meter is becoming increasingly important in the workplace due to safety concerns. Light measurement is also necessary to determine the best location and angle when installing and adjusting solar panels.

The M2p.59xx series allows recording of up to eight single-ended channels or up to four differential channels both with sampling rates of up to 125 MS/s. These PCI Express cards offer outstanding A/D features both in resolution and speed. The cards can be switched between single-ended inputs with a programmable offset and true differential inputs. If used in differential mode each two inputs are connected together reducing the number of available channels by half. The 16 bit vertical resolution have four times the accuracy compared to 14 bit cards and sixteen times the accuracy if compared with a 12 bit card. All boards of the M2p.59xx series may use the whole installed on-board memory of up to 512 MSamples completely for the currently activated number of channels.

The 2940A is a two-channel 400MHz DDS Signal Generator that generates two independent sine wave output frequencies simultaneously from 200kHz to 400MHz in 1Hz steps. A Clock Generator configuration with ECL or LVDS clock outputs is also available. The 2940A is lockable to an external frequency standard or is used with its internal TCXO. Optional internal amplifiers and 60dB step attentators available. Set all parameters with front panel controls and LCD display or by computer using the RS232 serial interface. All settings can be saved into non-volatile EEPROM memory upon power down. Windows software included.

The M2p.65xx series offers different versions of arbitrary waveform generators for PCI Express with a maximum output rate of 125 MS/s. These boards allow to generate freely definable waveforms on several channels synchronously. With one of the synchronization options the setup of synchronous multi channel systems is possible as well as the combination of arbitrary waveform generator with digitizers of the M2p product family. The 512 MSample on-board memory can be used as arbitrary waveform storage or as a FIFO buffer continuously stream data via the PCIe interface. Importantly, the high-resolution 16-bit DACs deliver four times the resolution than AWGs using older 14-bit technology.
