The R&S®ZND network analyzer performs unidirectional measurements up to 4.5 GHz in the base model. It can be expanded to perform bidirectional measurements and the frequency range can be extended to 8.5 GHz. The large R&S®ZND touchscreen is easy to operate making it ideal for S-parameter measurements, even when many diagrams are needed. Time domain measurements can also be added for even more functions.

This device has low impedance mismatch, high bandwidth, wide dynamic range and is capable of rapid state change. The QPA8 can be an attractive alternative to either the manually operated microwave attenuator switches, which are expensive and are switched very slowly, or the relay attenuators which are expensive and wear out quickly. Attenuation is controlled in standard steps of 0.0625 dB. The 10 bit programmable range results in the full 210=1024 steps yielding a dynamic range of 0 to 63.9375dB. Non-standard custom step sizes are available.

Amplitude Detectors with Isolators

Full band waveguide detectors are GaAs beam lead Schottky diode-based detectors that are specially designed for millimeterwave network analyzer applications. With a proprietary circuitry design and careful diode selection, these zero-biased detectors exhibit high sensitivity and extremely flat output characteristics. The below standard offering covers the frequency range of 18 to 170 GHz and offers a 1 MHz video bandwidth and 1 MΩ video output impedance. The standard models also have the capacity to handle a maximum RF input power of up to +17 dBm. The RF interface of these detectors is a standard waveguide with an integrated Faraday isolator to improve the port VSWR. The output voltage polarity is negative and the connector type is a female SMA. Other configurations are offered as custom models.

With fast stepped-FFT sweeps resulting from optimized data processing, the SA application provides quick spurious searches over broad frequency ranges.
