Silicon Oscillators
Analog Devices silicon oscillators are frequency programmable via pin-strapping, or through the resistor connection or serial interface (SPI or I2C). These solid-state clocks are well-suited for general-purpose usage, such as PGAs, ASICS, microprocessors, or UARTS, and they operate from 1 kHz to 170 MHz. Silicon oscillators are also ideal switching regulator clocks as they provide synchronization and EMI reduction (via spread spectrum).

Audio Oscillator & Sweep Generator
SweepGen
SweepGen turns a PC into an Audio Oscillator and Sweep Generator which can be used for testing audio or educational purposes. In conjunction with audio test instruments, you can make frequency response plots. SweepGen uses the sound card in your PC to produce sine waves that are mathematically correct almost to CD quality, indeed it's more likely that the quality of your PC sound card will be the limiting factor rather than the code in SweepGen.

Signal Analyzer
bsw TestSystems & Consulting AG
The simplest way to measure the phase noise is to compare the Device-Under-Test (DUT) to the source of a spectrum analyzer. With the SA set at the same frequency as the OUT, you see the sum of the SA's and DUT's sideband-power spectrum on the SA display. It is a simple and straight forward method well suited for free running VCO's where the SA is easily an order better. You can improve on this method by establishing a Phase Lock (PLL) between the DUT and the Local Oscillator and create a zero-IF or base-band spectrum analyzer system.

Varactor Tuned Gunn Oscillators
Varactor tuned Gunn oscillators utilize high performance GaAs Gunn diodes and various cavity configurations to deliver moderate output power with low AM/FM noise and harmonic emissions. The oscillators are specially designed for a broader tuning bandwidth and an electrical tuning capability. The standard offering covers the frequency range of 8.2 to 110 GHz and features a self-locking set screw for fine frequency setting. While standard models offer a waveguide interface, a coaxial interface is also available. The performance of the oscillator can be further enhanced by adding an isolator, Gunn oscillator modulator/regulator, and temperature heater.

Thermal Analysis
The TORC (Thermo-optical Oscillating Refraction Characterization) technique applies decades of know-how in optical instrumentation to thermal analysis in a novel and unique way. The technique requires minimal sample preparation at maximal tolerance for sample properties. You can determine the coefficient of thermal expansion, glass and phase transitions as well as polymerization for various samples: liquids, gels, pastes, and certain solids. For example: cured and uncured resins, adhesives, glues, etc. can easily be characterized. Both thermal and time-dependent processes can be monitored with minimal effort.
