Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) and Rotary Variable Differential Transformer (RVDT) are transformer-type voltage/current transducers that convert a linear/rotary movement of a core/shaft to a multi-wire differential AC electrical signal. Both deliver signals linearly proportional to the position of a shaft (magnetic induction core). An LVDT/RVDT simulator is used to convert digital positional commands to corresponding AC signals.

NAI’s 56SQ2 is a 300 Watt AC/DC Power Supply that uses two slots in a standard VME chassis. It is conduction-cooled through the card edge/wedgelock. This power supply accepts either a single- or three-phase input and provides up to 5 standard VME outputs plus standby at 300 Watts. It is designed for VME and general purpose applications. An onboard microcontroller allows for design flexibility.Standard features include continuous Background Built-in-Test (BIT); remote error sensing; holdup time; and protection against transients, overvoltage and short circuits. Options such as power fail warning, vibration testing, over-temperature monitoring and shutdown, current share, and extensive signaling (including ANSI/VITA) are available.

NAI’s 73SD4 is a DSP-based, PC104-compliant Synchro/Resolver Measurement Board with six separate, isolated channels. These channels can incorporate up to six Synchro/Resolver-to-Digital Tracking Converters in a stack-through module. Each channel also produces differential incremental encoder (A & B) outputs (with programmable resolution) and a zero-degree marker pulse. Commutation outputs are available for 4-, 6-, or 8-pole brushless DC motors that eliminate the need for Hall Effect sensors, thereby reducing both processor time and bus traffic.

The serial bus system with real-time capabilities is the subject of the ISO 11898 International Standard and covers the lowest two layers of the ISO/OSI Reference Model. Our CANBus modules provide independent, isolated channels of CAN serial data bus links, conforming to the ISO 11898 International Standard. All CAN nodes are able to transmit data and several CAN nodes can request the bus simultaneously.
