6-8 DB Directional Couplers From 0.5 To 40 GHz
Pulsar Microwave manufactures the CS06 and CS08 series single directional couplers in nominal values of 6 and 8 dB, respectively. These directional couplers are used in 50-ohm systems for narrow and wideband applications within 500 MHz to 40 GHz. Standard outlines are fitted with SMA or N type female connectors, but Pulsar Microwave can customize upon request.

Voltage Variable Attenuators To 16 GHz
Our family of voltage controlled attenuators is non-reflective, with ranges of 32 dB of 64 dB. Pin diodes are used and the frequency range is 0.25-16 GHz. They operate with a control voltage of 0 to +8 VDC and handle +27 dBm maximum input power. These attenuators are bi-directional: either SMA port may be used for an input.

Voltage Controlled Linearized Attenuators To 16 GHz
Pulsar's voltage controlled, PIN diode linearized attenuators are available from 0.25-16 GHz with attenuation ranges of 32 and 64 dB. Each model includes an integrated linearizer, and a driver that controls the attenuation level. This design results in transient free switching between attenuation levels as opposed to the spurious outputs that result when an attenuation value is switched either on or off by a direct digitally controlled attenuator. Transfer function is 8 dB / Volt.

QPSK Quadraphase Modulators To 1880 MHz
QPSK Modulators incorporate a 90° hybrid, 2-way 0° divider and two BPSK Modulators to phase shift an input signal by 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270° by injecting ± 20 mA control signals at ports D1 and D2.

SP3T RF Pin Diode Switches To 18 GHz
Pulsar Microwave manufactures 3-way absorptive and reflective switches for use in 50-ohm systems. These SP3T switches operate from 100 MHz to 18 GHz and handle 200 mW input power. VSWR performance is often 1.6:1 or better with 100 ns switching time. Minimum isolation of 60 dB is specified for most units. Absorptive and reflective switches require +5V and -5V power supply to function. Control logic is from 0 to +5 volts. All voltage and ground connections are made by feed thru and turret terminals, respectively.

SP4T RF Pin Diode Switches To 16 GHz
The 4-way series of absorptive and reflective switches operate from 100 MHz to 16 GHz. They are rated at 200 mW maximum input power and have a switching time of 100 ns. SP4T switches that operate up to 8 GHz have a maximum VSWR of 1.6:1 and minimum isolation of 60 dB. All absorptive and reflective switches manufactured by Pulsar Microwave require both positive and negative 5-volt supplies. Additionally, the TTL control logic operates from 0 to +5 VDC. Voltage connection is made with feed thru terminals. Ground connection is made through the chassis and turret terminals.

Double Balanced Mixers From 0.01 To 6000 MHz
A double balanced mixer (DBM) employs the use of a well matched quad-diode ring with two balanced transformers. Because of this, a DBM enjoys the inherent advantage of high port to port isolation. The IF port in Pulsar's DBM design is DC coupled to the diodes.

Low Frequency 3-Way Power Dividers To 1500 MHz
Pulsar Microwave manufactures 3-way power dividers from 1 MHz to 1.5 GHz in both surface mount and connectorized packages. They are rated for an input power of 1 watt maximum for a load VSWR of 1.20:1 or better. This series of 3-way power dividers are currently offered in four outline packages. The hermetically sealed outline 301 and surface mount outline B are useful in portable applications where space is premium. Outlines 412 and 433 are connectorized versions in cross or in-line format, respectively.

SP1T RF Pin Diode Switches To 18 GHz
Pulsar Microwave manufactures pin diode RF switches that are controlled by TTL logic. This configuration is known as single pole, single throw and is often abbreviated SPST or SP1T. They have been engineered to function in 50-ohm systems, and are designed to operate from 40 MHz to 18 GHz. They have a switching time of 100 nanoseconds and input power rating of 200 mW (23 dBm). Performance of 1.6:1 or better VSWR and minimum isolation of 60 dB is typical of most models. All switches of this type require both +5VDC and -5VDC to operate. Typical current consumption is +/- 30 mA. TTL control logic of 0 to +5VDC is required. Units comes standard with SMA connectors.

Triple Balanced High IP3 Mixers To 3500 MHz
Pulsar Microwave Corporation features a high performance series of triple balanced mixers which offer superior IP3 performance. Optimized to cover specific bands (such as Cellular, PCS, LAN), a +10 dBm LO drive level results in a typical IP3 of +21 dBm, while +17 dBm and +23 LO drive levels result in typical IP3 readings of +30 and +35 dBm respectively. Provide us with your exact frequency ranges and power levels and we will be happy to guarantee an IP3 specification for your application. These high IP3 mixers are available in a number of packaging styles including 8-pin relay headers, TO5 & TO8 cans, flatpacks and connectorized housings. However, the most popular configuration is our miniature surface mount packages which are ideal for large volume applications and can be supplied on tape and reel to utilize automated pick and place assembly techniques.

Single Sideband IQ Modulators To 16 GHz
Single Sideband Modulators incorporate a 90° hybrid, 2-way 0° divider and two mixers to produce either an upper (RF + IF) or lower (RF - IF) sideband when driven by a carrier signal and modulation input signal. Depending on the phase relationship of the signals injected into the MOD.I and MOD.Q ports, the modulator will pass either the upper or lower sideband through to the output while rejecting the other.
