Lumistar designs and manufactures telemetry products for the flight test and antenna tracking communities. Board level products are manufactured with PCI, PCIe, cPCI bus interfaces as well as continuing support of ISA and VME legacy products. Lumistar products are also available without a PC interface or require an OS to operate. Serial, USB or Ethernet interfaces are used for control. Well documented application software with example code allows users to write their own applications for integration of Lumistar products into their telemetry systems.

PCI Dual Channel Multi-Band Down Converter
LS-27-D
The Lumistar LS-27-D3 TwoChannel Quad Band PCI Down Converter product is a 3rd generation high-density, high performance down converter designed using the sameadvanced technology as in the industry leading LS-25 PCIReceiver. The down-converter converts one or two independent channels of up to four RF frequency bands down to a 70 MHz IF output. The LS-27-D3 is typically used in conjunction with theLumistar LS-35 Series Digital IF Receiver/Combiner to provide one or two independent telemetry receivers, or a dual diversity combining receiver, with up to two multi-mode demodulators and bit synchronizers in a two-slot PCI interface. IF Digital Processing Board for Demodulation and Combining
LS-35-R
The Lumistar LS-35-R is part of the Lumistar family of digital processing boards used for programmable telemetry systems. The LS-35-R consists of a digital processing main board with two high capacity Xilinx Virtex-5 arrays. The LS-35-R provides a two-channel IF Receiver with Pre/Post detect combining, multimode demodulators with data rates up to 40 Mbps, bit synchronizer outputs, Viterbi decoding, spectral and constellation display, BER reader display and 70 MHz IF modulator with calibratednoise feature. The all-digital design assures a consistent product with high reliability and long-term stability.

Dual Channel Bit Synchronizer for Rates up to 45 Mbps
LS-45-DB
The Lumistar LS-45-DB Dual Channel Bit Synchronizer Daughterboard provides optimal reconstruction of a serial PCM data stream that has been corrupted by noise, phase jitter, amplitude modulation, or base line variations. The all-digitaldesign assures a high performance, consistent product, with excellent reliability and long-term stability. Dual channel design can feed each channel of the LS-55-DD dual decom. The LS-45-DB also has a post D combiner that allows for optimal ratiocombining of the two input signals A unique Built-in-Test feature allows performance verification for the Bit Synchronizer to ensure the highest level of operation. Auto-test BIT is performed for a short duration on the application of power and tests more than 90% of the Bit Synchronizer components. This test verifies that power is properly applied, verifies that there are no internal bit errors, and performs other tests to ensure that the bit synchronizer is fully operational with status indication of results. Command-test BIT performs the same functions and can be initiated by the user at any time through the Lumistar software when used on Lumistar PC products. The user has the ability to generate internal pseudo-random patterns and calculate internal bit error rates with or without the injection of forced errors.Various status indicators are also available through the software. The Bit Synchronizer also contains a BER reader as well as frame sync pattern indicator.

Integrated Receivers/Demodulators/Bit Synchronizers
Lumistar provides a wide variety of rack mount integrated receiver and diversity combiner systems. Some of these can be configured with multiple receivers, diversity combiners, and bit synchronizers depending on custom requirements. Lumistar does not manufacture any computers, but selects only the finest of the industrial machines available to provide a high performance package. Basic system setup, control, and display software is included with each of these systems at no additional cost.

Telemetry Simulators & Test Transmitters
Command Data Telemetry Simulators offer a dynamic way to create or change a PCM data stream on a word by word basis on the fly. This PCM data stream can be used to modulate an FM or SOQPSK RF output at S-Band or L-Band. In addition to simulating a new telemetry stream, the telemetry simulators can play back and loop an archived data file (which can also be changed on the fly) or create pseudo-random patterns.

Lumistar offers single PCI slot multi-band FM receivers. The same product in a “drive Bay” configuration is available. All Lumistar FM receivers can come without the FM demodulator use as antenna tracking receivers or for use as down converters used with an IF receiver for multi-mode digital combining and demodulation. Dual channel versions are also available.
