The LCMS-8040 was designed to provide significantly higher sensitivity while maintaining the high speed offered by the LCMS-8030. Ultrafast MRM transition speeds, up to 555 MRMs per second (dwell times of 1 msec and pause times of 1 msec) are achieved. In addition, the LCMS-8040 features the polarity switching at 15 msec and high speed scanning rate of 15,000 u/sec. By incorporating newly improved ion optics UF-Lens™ and UFsweeper™ II collision cell technology, the LCMS-8040 provides higher multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) sensitivity. This higher sensitivity expands the potential range of LC/MS/MS applications.

Shimadzu has released Balance Keys, data collection software capable of running in Windows™ 7, Windows™ 8 and Windows™ 10, as the computer software successor to the popular WindowsDirect function. With the remarkable advancement of office and factory automation, there has been a simultaneous increase in the demand to import balance data to computers, to save on labor and to avoid transcription mistakes. Balance data can be imported directly to the user's applications with the intuitive feel of keyboard input using the existing popular WindowsDirect function as is*1. In addition, data from multiple balances (up to three balances) can be imported. The software also supports the Shimadzu MOC series moisture analyzers and the AP series analytical balances*2.

LC/MS/MS MRM Library For Phospholipid Profiling
This MRM library includes two methods: one for phospholipid classification by comprehensive analysis of the main phospholipids in biological samples, and one for fatty acid composition determination created using analytical results obtained with the classification method. The library targets phospholipids containing C14 to C22 fatty acids, and includes MRM transitions for up to 867 components. This library enables performing phospholipid profiling by conducting an initial analysis with a phospholipid classification method. This is followed by creating a method for fatty acid composition determination based on the phospholipid peak detected in the first analysis, and subsequently using this method to perform a second analysis to determine fatty acid composition.

Py-Screener
The Py-Screener™ system is designed to screen for phthalate esters in polymers. The use of phthalate esters in toys and food packaging is currently restricted. Moving forward, they are expected to be regulated as restricted substances under the Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS (II) Directive) in Europe. The pyrolyzer GC/MS (Py-GC/MS) is used to selectively detect and quantify phthalate esters thermally extracted from samples.
